The Intelligent Rebuild Cost Platform is designed to value one building at a time. If the address input by the user is only showing a building polygon around one building in the area this is because this is the property that both OS and the Post Office recognise as that address.
If the property is valued as a Commercial property, there is an allowance of for External properties added onto the rebuild valuation to cater to this.
If the property is valued as a Residential property this allowance is not included.
It may be that the separate buildings around the property have their own UPRNs. The user can look these up at uprn.uk by inputting the post code and searching for any additional UPRNs in the IRCP.
Alternatively, the user can edit the footprint of the building to include the footprint of the external buildings. This will then amend the rebuild valuation to be calculated on a larger footprint. However, if this approach is followed the user must understand that in most cases, the multiple buildings will have different occupancies (e.g. a farm could include a residential property, barns, warehouses etc) and therefore by editing the footprint of one property will not be an accurate valuation as it will only be valued based on one occupancy.
There is future work planned to add the ability for the user to be able to add to and edit lots of properties. However, there is not currently any information on an expected release date for this functionality.
